One theme running through all three cycles
Every release here was shaped by a surge of AI/LLM-generated patches and bug reports. It drove the large removals of obsolete drivers in 7.1 and 7.3 — maintainers dropped code rather than field reports against hardware nobody runs. Networking maintainer Jakub Kicinski has said the subsystem is "completely overwhelmed", and Greg KH forewarned of a rough 7.3 cycle for the same reason.
Worth factoring into review-turnaround expectations for anything currently in flight upstream.
